Get started

Open Plinth in your Shopify admin, go to 3D models and click New 3D model. Pick a product, choose its clearest photo and click Generate. When the model is ready, spin it to check it, enter one real measurement and click Publish to product.

Choosing photos

Use a photo with the whole product in frame on a plain background, taken straight on at product height, with no hands, props or other products. On Pro and Plus, Multi-view also reads back and side photos for a more accurate shape and color.

The model came out wrong

If it's only facing the wrong way, use Turn; it's free. If the shape is off, generate again with a cleaner photo or with Multi-view. Glass, mirrors, chrome and very thin parts are hard for any AI. Failed generations give their credits back.

Real size and AR

Measure one side of the real product (height is usually easiest) and enter it under Real size. Plinth scales the model to match and stands it on the floor, so View in your space on a phone shows it at true size. Without a size, AR uses an estimate (about 30 cm across), so add one for true-to-size AR.

I don't see the model on my store

Plinth adds the model to the product's media, so it appears wherever your theme shows product media. Dawn and the other Online Store 2.0 themes show 3D models in the gallery. Shopify can take a minute to process a new model. If your theme shows only the first few media items, set Place in product media to Right after the main photo.

Credits

Free includes 3 credits to try Plinth (they don't renew). Pro includes 30 credits a month and Plus 100; during a paid plan's free trial, and on development stores, 5 credits are available. Standard uses 1 credit and Multi-view 2. Monthly credits reset on the 1st; turning, resizing and publishing are free.

Upgrading or canceling

Plans are managed by Shopify. Open Plinth and click Upgrade or Manage plan on Home; charges appear on your Shopify bill. Published models stay on your products if you cancel or uninstall.
